Traveling alone to the Amazon to work with Ayahuasca can be
deeply transformative — but also intensely challenging.
The jungle environment, simple living conditions, and cultural differences can leave participants feeling overwhelmed or unsupported at crucial moments. Language barriers and differing approaches to emotional processing may also prevent important inner experiences from being fully understood or integrated.
We created this pilgrimage to bridge these worlds.
Not to change the tradition — but to help you enter it with clarity, support, and preparation.
Why We Created This Pilgrimage

For two weeks, you will be living in the heart of the Amazon jungle
During this time, you will experience:
-
Simple, traditional accommodations in the Amazon; minimal, but grounding and close to nature
-
Guided plant dietas held by Maestro Ricardo Amaringo
-
8 Ayahuasca ceremonies over the course of the retreat
-
Traditional Shipibo Flower Baths
-
Plenty of time in nature for rest, reflection, and personal process
This is not a luxury retreat.
It is a raw and grounded two-week immersion
What Awaits You

This pilgrimage is guided by people who know Nihue Rao from the inside.
Chris has been returning to Nihue Rao for over a decade, developing a deep connection to the work and the people.
Mario lived and worked at the center for over two and a half years, managing operations and building close relationships with the Maestros and team.
We are not intermediaries — we are long-term students of this path. We understand both worlds: the Western psychological process and the Shipibo ceremonial tradition.
Our role is to help you walk between them.

What makes this pilgrimage different

“There is only one solution to live well
in this difficult world: the diet.”
Maestro Ricardo Amaringo
We are honored to introduce our teacher, Maestro Ricardo Amaringo — a deeply respected Maestro within the Shipibo Ayahuasca tradition and Head Shaman of Nihue Rao Centro Espiritual.
Rooted in the ancient lineage of the Shipibo people of the Amazon, his work carries generations of wisdom, discipline, and devotion to the sacred plants.
Within this cosmology, the world is understood as a living, interconnected field — where humans, plants, animals, and spirits exist in relationship.
Ayahuasca is not seen as a substance, but as a teacher and bridge — guiding individuals toward healing, insight, and alignment.
Through ceremony, icaros, and presence, Maestro Ricardo holds a space that is both powerful and precise — shaped by decades of training and lived experience.
Working with him is an invitation into deeper layers — one that asks for humility, courage, and sincerity.
